Description:
EMDR therapists guide survivors in healing from sexual trauma on a daily basis; however, many therapists wrap up their work once PTSD symptoms have abated. This 2 hour workshop will provide information from the new book EMDR Therapy and Sexual Health: A Clinician’s Guide on basic and current sexual health information and models, expanding and elaborating on prior workshops, helping clients move towards empowered sexual health, addressing “Present” and “Future” targets, not just the “Past.”
All speakers are from our local beloved Western Massachusetts or from next door Connecticut. Jeanne Folks will help participants explore how sexuality and spirituality impact each other, often resulting in EMDR targets, and how to assist clients in positively integrating sexuality and spirituality. Michelle Marchese will help participants learn about gender and how it relates to trauma and EMDR Targets. Sabrina Herman will discuss treating folks (of all genders) with pregnancy loss. Nancy Simons will share a helpful resource for dealing compassionately with sexual shame: “The Self-Compassion Container.”
Come connect with your EMDR colleagues and enjoy the chance to talk about sex! It’s been a loooong pandemic.
