Dear EMDR Community,
We are pleased to open our Call for Proposals for our 16th Annual Spring Conference at Umass in Amherst, MA! Save the Saturday, March 28, 2020 date and come together for an innovative and inclusive day of learning and connecting with your EMDR therapist friends and colleagues.
Expect an exciting keynote on using EMDR for depression by renowned EMDR practitioner, writer, facilitator and consultant Robin Shapiro and a selection of morning and afternoon workshops on a range of EMDR therapy topics.
To this end, the Western Massachusetts Regional EMDRIA Network Board is now inviting proposals for 90- and 180-minute presentations and workshops. We are eager to receive proposals for engaging, up-to-date treatment and practice-related presentations that feature topics of relevance and importance to our community of EMDR clinicians. We are interested in a range of practical, conceptual, clinical, creative and inventive proposals as well as specific workshops centering a range of populations as well as individual and cultural/social trauma concerns.
We have included a form above which asks for the necessary information for us to obtain CEUs for a variety of licenses.  All proposals will be submitted for review and approval by the EMDRIA Standards & Training Committee and must meet approval criteria for EMDRIA Credits.
The deadline for proposal submissions is November 1, 2019.
Proposal Considerations: Feedback from conference participants suggests that presenters should generally try to cover less material and focus on clarity and the take-home message, leave time for questions and dialogue, and incorporate experiential learning, including use of video examples of relevant work or group exercises.
Please realize in advance that, while we are very grateful for all submissions, we have limited space available and are unable to accept all proposals. If accepted, and in order to satisfy EMDRIA and multidisciplinary CEU requirements, you will be asked for your final presentation slides by February 15, 2020.
If you would like to discuss a proposal idea or seek clarification of the proposal guidelines stated above, please contact the Steering Committee through Regional Coordinator and Conference Program Coordinator Michelle Marchese, LICSW at [email protected]
The Western Mass EMDRIA Regional Network is a registered non-profit group of local EMDR therapists dedicated to disseminating knowledge about EMDR and otherwise strengthening our regional EMDRIA community. We award stipends to presenters based on EMDRIA Regional Network guidelines, which cap honoraria at $250 per presentation.
Whether you submit a proposal or not, we look forward to seeing you next spring in Amherst!
On behalf of the Western MA Regional Network Board,
Michelle Marchese
