Western MA EMDRIA Regional Coordinators
Michelle Marchese, LICSW (she/her), Board President/ Regional Coordinator, is certified in clinical supervision and is a current doctoral student at the Smith College School for Social Work. She works primarily at the Smith College Counseling Service but also maintains a Northampton, MA private practice where she provides supervision, consultation, and weekend EMDR intensives. As an EMDRIA-Certified Consultant, Michelle has presented her workshop on “Gender-Affirming EMDR with Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Clients” both locally and at EMDRIA Canada. Additionally, she is trained in Progressive Counting and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, as well as in advanced dialogic and narrative practices. She has worked at two community mental health clinics, a PTSD milieu at the Veterans Administration, and at The Trauma Institute as a clinical supervisor. Her research experience has involved measuring the outcomes on a variety of trauma interventions for individuals, testing an attachment-based intervention for military couples, and analyzing barriers to trauma treatment for LGBTQIAA+ communities. Previously, she was a visual and performing artist and a community arts organizer.
